- Knead about 4-5 minutes, cover and set aside.
- Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients only this time use salt instead of sugar. Knead well, cover and set aside.
- Allow to rest and rise for about 30 minutes to an hour
- After the dough has risen, on a floured surface roll out each dough into a disc shape. You can taste the dough to determine which one is which.
- Take the sugar dough and place it ontop of the salty dough.
- Ensure that all the edges meet uniformly.
- Roll out the discs into a log shape.
- Using a clean string or floss, cut out about one inch thickness pieces.
- Put them on a lightly floured surface, cover and let rise for about 15-30 minutes.
- Heat oil over medium heat and fry the pinwheel until you get a nice golden brown color.
- Drain off excess oil on a paper towel. The pinwheel are ready to serve.
- I coated mine with some melted white chocolate, you can also coat in sugar syrup made with one cup sugar, 1/4 cup water over medium heat.
